About
This "Beach House" was built in 1896 and is a Queen Anne Victorian Estate that has been fully restored using the highest quality period pieces. This home features original refinished hardwood floors, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper throughout, original lighting fixtures and an antique fireplace with Minton tile. There are handmade doors made by a master craftsman, with antique period piece doorknobs. The entry has an original Mahogany staircase, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper designed by Walter Crane and William Morris and there is an average of 13 color patterns per room. The fireplace mantel is out of a Pasadena antique store, surrounded by Victorian tile and hearth made by Minton (founded in England in 1793). The glass doors have been carved and etched, all the carvings are handmade and done with a copper wheel. In the dining room, the Mahogany chair rail is original to the home and the chandelier is from a San Francisco hotel and original to the Victorian time period. As you go upstairs you notice the Victorian carpet from England, the Wilton Wool pattern is a British wool and regarded as the world’s best for its blend of resilience and recovery. The master bathroom toilet is one of the few remaining "John Douglas'' toilets, from which the word JOHN evolved. The around six-foot bathtub is from the 1890's and the Estate of "Doris Day''. It is bronze with nickel legs with an oak rim. This is truly a genuine period piece of Queen Anne Victoria.
